HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Eric
4Wayne "Rick" Zehr, who passed away on March 7, 2026; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rick Zehr was born to Kendall and Irene Zehr in
6Pontiac on July 9, 1962; he grew up working at the family
7hatchery and mill; he received a Bachelor of Science in
8Psychology from Eastern Illinois University and a Master of
9Science in Clinical Psychology from Illinois State University;
10he married Jennifer Schieber Clyatt on March 4, 1994; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Rick Zehr worked in healthcare, dedicating much
12of his career to addiction medicine; he led the Addiction
13Recovery Center at Proctor Hospital for many years, and he
14most recently served as part of Carle Health's Trillium Place
15team; he was gifted in his ability to create new programs and
16drive addiction treatment forward; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Rick Zehr was passionate about music, sports, and
18his family, and he treasured spending time with family and
19friends attending concerts, hanging out at the cabin, and
20playing with his grandchildren; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Rick Zehr was a people person who always listened

1to those around him, intent on making a genuine connection;
2and
 
3    WHEREAS, Rick Zehr is survived by his wife of 32 years,
4Jenny; his stepdaughter, Jessica (Jay) Bulaclac; two
5grandsons; his parents; his brother, Rodney (Patti) Zehr; one
6nephew; his aunt, Sandra Roof; his sister-in-law, Judy (Donal
7Hughes) Schieber; and his cousins and friends; therefore, be
8it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
10HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
11we mourn the passing of Eric Wayne "Rick" Zehr and extend our
12sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
13and loved him; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Rick Zehr as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
