HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, Firefighters, paramedics, and law enforcement
3officers dedicate their lives to protecting the public,
4preserving life and property, and maintaining peace and safety
5within our communities; and
 
6    WHEREAS, These courageous men and women respond without
7hesitation to emergencies, disasters, acts of violence, and
8moments of crisis, often placing themselves in harm's way for
9the benefit of others; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Throughout our nation's history, countless first
11responders have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of
12duty, leaving behind families, friends, and grateful
13communities; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Their bravery, selflessness, and commitment to
15service embody the highest ideals of public service and
16reflect the enduring strength and character of our
17communities; and
 
18    WHEREAS, It is fitting and proper that the State of
19Illinois set aside time to honor the memory of those who gave
20their lives in service, to recognize the sacrifices of their
21families, and to reaffirm support for those who continue to

1serve; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
3HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
4we declare June 2026 as Fallen First Responders Month in the
5State of Illinois in honor of all the firefighters,
6paramedics, and law enforcement officers who have made the
7ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty; and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That we encourage citizens to observe this
9designation with appropriate ceremonies, memorial services,
10moments of silence, educational programs, and acts of
11community service to honor the legacy of our fallen heroes;
12and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That we express our deepest gratitude to the
14families of the fallen, and we pledge our continued support to
15the men and women who serve and protect our communities each
16day.
