| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Eugene A. "Gene" Suarez, who passed |
| 4 | | away on August 1, 2024; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Gene Suarez was born to Mary and Joseph Suarez in |
| 6 | | DePue on February 11, 1936; he graduated from Western Illinois |
| 7 | | University; he served in the U.S. Army; and |
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Gene Suarez worked at the Internal Revenue |
| 9 | | Service (IRS) for five years; he then served as the manager of |
| 10 | | federal taxes with Deere & Co. for 30 years; and |
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Gene Suarez loved following sports, golfing, and |
| 12 | | spending time with his family and friends; and |
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Gene was preceded in death by his son, Joe; his |
| 14 | | parents; and his siblings, Celestino, Albert, John, Frank, |
| 15 | | Angelina, Juanita, and Linda; and |
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Gene Suarez is survived by his wife, Shirley; his |
| 17 | | daughters, Maryann (Paul) Gatti and Brenda (Jeff) Richerson; |
| 18 | | and his granddaughter, Alayna Linton; therefore, be it |
| 19 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL |
