| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Jack Duaine Pulford of Chandler, |
| 4 | | Arizona, who passed away on June 12, 2024; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jack Pulford was born to Catherine and Bothwell |
| 6 | | Pulford in Moline on June 15, 1937; he graduated from Moline |
| 7 | | High School in 1955; he served as an aviation ordinance |
| 8 | | specialist in the U.S. Navy; he married Constance Freidman in |
| 9 | | Rock Island in 1960, and they had two children, Dawn Marie and |
| 10 | | Mark Duaine; he later married Karen McDermotte in Moline, and |
| 11 | | they moved to Chandler, Arizona in 2000; and |
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Jack Pulford owned and operated many restaurants |
| 13 | | in his career, including the Belgrade in Moline, Sammy G Lanes |
| 14 | | in Moline, Jack's Waterhole in East Moline, The Greenbriar in |
| 15 | | Moline, and Jack's Stardust Lounge in Moline; he retired in |
| 16 | | 2012; and |
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Jack Pulford was an avid golfer throughout his |
| 18 | | life and was known for being one of the four Worst Avid Golfers |
| 19 | | (WAGs), a recognition referenced in Golf Digest, Sports |
| 20 | | Illustrated, and Time Magazine; for his involvement in the |
| 21 | | WAGs Tournament in 1985, he also made appearances on ESPN and |
| 22 | | Dateline; he also served on the board of directors for the PGA |

| 1 | | Quad City Open, now known as the John Deere Classic; and |
| 2 | | WHEREAS, In retirement, Jack Pulford enjoyed traveling |
| 3 | | with his wife, Karen, watching sports, and spending time with |
| 4 | | his family and dog, Leo; outside of golf, he was a big fan of |
| 5 | | the Fighting Illini and the Chicago Cubs; and |
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Jack Pulford will be remembered for his laugh, |
| 7 | | his zest for life, and his love of family and friends; and |
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Jack Pulford was preceded in death by his |
| 9 | | parents; both of his wives; his sisters, Maxin Neels and Mary |
| 10 | | Armstrong; and his daughter; and |
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Jack Pulford is survived by his son; his |
| 12 | | grandchildren, Jennifer, Amber, Melinda, Jessica, Mark, and |
| 13 | | Mike; and his great-grandchildren, Tanner, Colton, Kylie, |
| 14 | | Ariana, Jacob, Lilliana, and Grayson; therefore, be it |
| 15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL |
| 16 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 17 | | Jack Duaine Pulford and extend our sincere condolences to his |
| 18 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
