| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Robert Lawrence "Bob" Powers, who |
| 4 | | passed away on March 29, 2024; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bob Powers was born in Toledo, Ohio to Laura and |
| 6 | | Edward Powers on November 18, 1939; he graduated from Central |
| 7 | | Catholic High School in Toledo and served in the United States |
| 8 | | Marine Corps; he married Bonnie in Toledo, and they relocated |
| 9 | | to Illinois in 1979; and |
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Bob Powers worked in sales at National Standard, |
| 11 | | Walker/McLean Forge, Sulberg USA, and FPS Inc.; and |
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Bob Powers loved to mow, golf, sell and talk |
| 13 | | sickle guards, listen to music or talk radio while driving his |
| 14 | | Shelby, watch a good ball game, and, above all else, spend time |
| 15 | | with his family and friends; upon the passing of his wife, he |
| 16 | | raised his two young daughters with grace and purpose; and |
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Bob Powers made sure all who were important to |
| 18 | | him felt it and truly wanted the best for everyone he |
| 19 | | encountered; he worked and excelled in numerous fields and |
| 20 | | took pride in everything he did, most importantly what he |
| 21 | | could do for others; and |
