| 3 | | organizations are recognizing child care providers across the |
| 4 | | country on May 10, 2024; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Child care providers provide a safe, nurturing |
| 6 | | environment for the enrichment and development of millions of |
| 7 | | children nationwide, and they are a vital force to the U.S. |
| 8 | | economy; and |
| 9 | | WHEREAS, The COVID-19 pandemic illuminated how |
| 10 | | indispensable child care providers are for the well-being and |
| 11 | | economic security of young children, families, and communities |
| 12 | | in Illinois; and |
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Child care programs, which are mostly small |
| 14 | | businesses predominantly run and staffed by women, continue to |
| 15 | | recover from the health and financial hardships stemming from |
| 16 | | the pandemic while attempting to meet the needs of more |
| 17 | | families; and |
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Child care has been and continues to be a |
| 19 | | lifeline for families, communities, and the economy; and |
| 20 | | WHEREAS, The future depends on the quality of early |
