SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Jeffrey Griffin "Jeff" Robinson of 
4Coal Valley, who passed away on November 19, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jeff Robinson was born in Burlington, Iowa to 
6Griffin John and Pamela (Sharp) Robinson on July 20, 1960; he 
7served in the U.S. Navy as a submariner; he married Michelle 
8Stozek in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 17, 1985; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Jeff Robinson began his career with Smith 
10Engineering, one of the pioneering air pollution control 
11equipment manufacturers; driven by an entrepreneurial spirit 
12and a desire to make a positive impact, he established 
13Environmental Services & Technologies in 1993; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Jeff Robinson found joy in exploring the world, 
15with a particular love for the Cayman Islands, where he 
16indulged in his passion for scuba diving; his family held the 
17utmost importance in his life; he was a pillar of strength and 
18the glue that bound the family together; his devotion to his 
19grandchildren, affectionately known as "his rats", was evident 
20in the joy and laughter they shared; he was honorable, 
21compassionate, authentic and loyal and effortlessly created 
22lasting connections with others; and

1    WHEREAS, Jeff Robinson was preceded in death by his 
2parents; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Jeff Robinson is survived by his wife of over 38 
4years, Michelle; his children, Meagan (Jeremy) Nolen, Morgan 
5Robinson, Mallory Robinson (Alex Fetter), Taylor Robinson 
6(Anthony Shoff), and Blaine Robinson (Andrea Garcia); his 
7grandchildren, Kaedyn and Kazimiera Nolen, Merrick Pizano, 
8Althea Fetter, and Theseus and Thane Shoff; his siblings, John 
9(Sheri) Robinson, Lorri (Rod) Stalsberg, and Lynne (Bill) 
10Miller; Howard Nelson of the Cayman Islands; and his nephew, 
11Dougie Lefler; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
14Jeffrey Griffin "Jeff" Robinson and extend our sincere 
15condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved 
16him; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
18presented to the family of Jeff Robinson as an expression of 
19our deepest sympathy.
