SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Jerry Styninger of Canton, who passed 
4away on August 24, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jerry Styninger was born on December 27, 1942; he 
6served six years in the U.S. Army Reserve; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Jerry Styninger worked for International 
8Harvester for 30 years and retired from the Ohio Truck Plant; 
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jerry Styninger was influential in forming the 
11underwater search and rescue team for the Fulton County 
12Sheriff's Office; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Jerry Styninger enjoyed going on vacations in his 
14motor home with his wife, Carol, hiking, and walking; he 
15walked the Appellation Trail twice and hiked in Alaska seven 
16times; he also ran more than 20 marathons in Ohio; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Jerry Styninger lived the simple life and was a 
18father, son, husband, brother, and brother-in-law; therefore, 
19be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Jerry Styninger and extend our sincere condolences to his 
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Jerry Styninger as an expression of 
8our deepest sympathy.
