| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Captain Eleanor "Ellie" LeBeau Cooke |
| 4 | | of Belleville, who passed away on August 27, 2023; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Capt. Cooke was the daughter of David and |
| 6 | | Victoria LeBeau, and she was the fifth of eight children; and |
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Capt. Cooke attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic |
| 8 | | School and Althoff Catholic High School, both in Belleville; |
| 9 | | she graduated from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky |
| 10 | | in 2016, where she was a member of the dance team; and |
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Capt. Cooke served as a pilot in the U.S. Marine |
| 12 | | Corps; she was commissioned on August 11, 2018 and promoted to |
| 13 | | captain on March 1, 2023; and |
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Through the U.S. Marine Corps, Capt. Cooke met |
| 15 | | her husband, fellow pilot Chase Cooke; they were married at |
| 16 | | St. Anthony Catholic Church in St. Louis, Missouri; and |
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Capt. Cooke served with distinction, setting |
| 18 | | forth the same zeal and commitment she gave to everything; she |
| 19 | | will be remembered for bringing joy, exuberance, and an |
| 20 | | abundance of love into the world; therefore, be it |
