| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Glenn W. Feldman of Illinois City, who | ||||||
| 4 | passed away on May 1, 2023; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Glenn Feldman was born to Walter William and | ||||||
| 6 | Laura Dorothy (Dungan) Feldman in Muscatine, Iowa on June 12, | ||||||
| 7 | 1944; he graduated from Rockridge High School in 1962 and from | ||||||
| 8 | Iowa State University in 1967; immediately following | ||||||
| 9 | graduation, he was drafted by the U.S. Army and completed | ||||||
| 10 | Basic Training at Ft. Leonard Wood in 1967 and went on to | ||||||
| 11 | complete Helicopter Maintenance Training; in the summer of | ||||||
| 12 | 1968, he reported for duty with the SPC 1st Air Cavalry | ||||||
| 13 | Division in Vietnam, where he performed maintenance on | ||||||
| 14 | helicopters and flew 25 aerial missions in support of ground | ||||||
| 15 | forces; after being wounded in an airstrike, he was awarded | ||||||
| 16 | the Purple Heart and Air Medal for his meritorious | ||||||
| 17 | participation in action and was honorably discharged; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, After his military service, Glenn Feldman | ||||||
| 19 | returned to the family farm in lower Rock Island County; he | ||||||
| 20 | tended the land he loved, raising cattle and planting and | ||||||
| 21 | harvesting crops; and
| ||||||
| 22 | WHEREAS, Beyond field work and tending livestock, Glenn | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | Feldman enjoyed taking care of the many cats that lived in his | ||||||
| 2 | barn; he also enjoyed riding down the road in his truck, | ||||||
| 3 | checking fields and chatting with neighbors and friends along | ||||||
| 4 | the way, and spending time with his family, his lifelong | ||||||
| 5 | friends, and his fraternity brothers; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Glenn Feldman was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 7 | parents and his brother, Keith Feldman; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Glenn Feldman is survived by his sisters, Marilyn | ||||||
| 9 | Lafever, Janet Kistler, and Diane (Doug) Hessman; his nieces | ||||||
| 10 | and nephews, Greg (Sue) Kistler, Marty (Jami) Kistler, Matt | ||||||
| 11 | (Dee) Lafever, Jim (Briana) Lafever, Julie (Scott) Wagner, Joy | ||||||
| 12 | (Shawn) Carter, and Jill (Marcus) Holler; and his several | ||||||
| 13 | great-nieces and great-nephews; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 14 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | ||||||
| 15 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
| ||||||
| 16 | Glenn W. Feldman and extend our sincere
condolences to his | ||||||
| 17 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it | ||||||
| 18 | further
| ||||||
| 19 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
| ||||||
| 20 | presented to the family of Glenn Feldman as an expression of
| ||||||
