| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to |
| 3 | | congratulate Audrey Soglin on her recent retirement as the |
| 4 | | Executive Director of the Illinois Education Association and |
| 5 | | commend her lifetime commitment to improving the lives of |
| 6 | | every student throughout the State of Illinois; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Through her collaborative work, Audrey Soglin has |
| 8 | | established herself as one of the premier advocates for |
| 9 | | educators by ensuring that their voices are heard and that the |
| 10 | | positive work being done in our schools and classrooms is |
| 11 | | recognized by parents, legislators, and community leaders; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Audrey Soglin has taken a leadership role |
| 13 | | throughout her career, whether as a classroom teacher, local |
| 14 | | union leader, or executive director; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Audrey Soglin helped position the Illinois |
| 16 | | Education Association as one of the leaders on the importance |
| 17 | | of trauma-informed practices, as well as social and emotional |
| 18 | | learning, and of including these as a part of every day best |
| 19 | | teaching practices; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Audrey Soglin has committed the Illinois |
| 21 | | Education Association to becoming a leader in racial and |
