AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3594 

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3594 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Illinois Articulation Initiative Act is 
5amended by changing Section 15 as follows:
 
6    (110 ILCS 152/15)
7    Sec. 15. Participation. All public institutions shall 
8participate in the Illinois Articulation Initiative through 
9submission and review of their courses for statewide transfer. 
10All public institutions shall maintain a complete Illinois 
11Articulation Initiative General Education Core Curriculum 
12package, and all public institutions shall submit and maintain 
13up to 4 core courses in each of the Illinois Articulation 
14Initiative majors, provided the public institution has 
15equivalent majors and courses. All public institutions shall 
16provide faculty, as appointed by the Board of Higher Education

1for public universities and the Illinois Community College 
2Board for public community colleges, to serve on panels in the 
3review of courses.
4    If, in a given academic year, a public institution does 
5not have an equivalent major, lower-division courses, or both 
6that align with the major panel's descriptors and course 
7approval criteria, then the public institution shall be 
8considered to be compliant with this Section for that academic 
9year, as determined by the Board of Higher Education and the 
10Illinois Community College Board, in coordination with the 
11director of the Illinois Articulation Initiative.

13    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
14becoming law.".
