| 1 | | AN ACT concerning regulation. |
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly: |
| 4 | | Section 5. The Funeral Directors and Embalmers Licensing |
| 5 | | Code is amended by adding Section 15-33 as follows: |
| 6 | | (225 ILCS 41/15-33 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 15-33. Exceptions to unlicensed practice. No license |
| 8 | | is required under this Code for an organ procurement |
| 9 | | organization or its authorized representative to transport a |
| 10 | | deceased human body from its place of death, institution, or |
| 11 | | other location if the organ procurement organization is: |
| 12 | | (1) certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid |
| 13 | | Services; |
| 14 | | (2) transporting the deceased human body for the |
| 15 | | purposes of organ or tissue donation; and |
| 16 | | (3) transporting the deceased human body within the |
| 17 | | viable timeframe for organ or tissue donation. |
