AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3318

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3318, AS AMENDED, 
3by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the 
4following:
 
5    "Section 5. The State Employees Group Insurance Act of 
61971 is amended by adding Section 6.11D as follows:
 
7    (5 ILCS 375/6.11D new)
8    Sec. 6.11D. Coverage for treatments to slow the 
9progression of Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias. 
10Beginning on July 1, 2025, the State Employees Group Insurance 
11Program shall provide coverage for all medically necessary 
12FDA-approved treatments or medications prescribed to slow the 
13progression of Alzheimer's Disease or another related 
14dementia, as determined by a physician licensed to practice 
15medicine under the Illinois Medical Practice Act of 1987. 
16Coverage for all FDA-approved treatments or medications

1prescribed to slow the progression of Alzheimer's Disease or 
2another related dementia shall not be subject to step therapy. 
3Any diagnostic testing necessary for a physician to determine 
4appropriate use of these treatments or medications shall be 
5covered by the State Employees Group Insurance Program.".
