| 1 | | AN ACT concerning local government.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by adding Section |
| 5 | | 5-1064.5 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (55 ILCS 5/5-1064.5 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 5-1064.5. Wildlife and sensitive habitat risk in |
| 8 | | counties of less than 1,000,000 population. The county board |
| 9 | | of a county with a population of less than 1,000,000 may |
| 10 | | establish minimum requirements for new building design and |
| 11 | | construction to lessen the risks caused by new building design |
| 12 | | and construction to wildlife and sensitive habitats.

| 13 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 14 | | becoming law.
