| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Gary Resh on receiving | ||||||
| 4 | the 2024 First Citizen Award from The Danville Chapter of | ||||||
| 5 | AMBUCS; and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, The Danville Chapter of AMBUCS has presented the | ||||||
| 7 | First Citizen's Award to a member of the Danville Community to | ||||||
| 8 | honor their volunteer service every year since 1932; and | ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Gary Resh is the owner of Resh Frame Shop, where | ||||||
| 10 | he creates beautifully crafted custom framing and woodcarving; | ||||||
| 11 | and | ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Gary Resh currently serves on the board of the | ||||||
| 13 | DACC Foundation and as a volunteer hanging and framing items | ||||||
| 14 | and exhibits for the Vermilion County War Museum; he is a past | ||||||
| 15 | board member of the United Samaritans Medical Center | ||||||
| 16 | Foundation, the Danville Public Library Foundation, where he | ||||||
| 17 | served as president for three years, OSF, formerly known as | ||||||
| 18 | Presence Medical Center, the Danville Art League, the Danville | ||||||
| 19 | Symphony, the Danville Symphony Guild, the Red Mask Players, | ||||||
| 20 | the Danville Area Arts Council, the Bi-Centennial Committee, | ||||||
| 21 | and Arts in the Park, Inc.; and | ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Gary Resh served as the co-chair of the annual | ||||||
| 2 | Festival of Trees event for eight years, and he continues to be | ||||||
| 3 | an active member, tree designer, and in charge of signage for | ||||||
| 4 | the festival; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Gary Resh and his wife, Doris Resh, established a | ||||||
| 6 | scholarship at Danville Area Community College for students | ||||||
| 7 | studying business; and | ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Gary Resh has donated over 30 personally | ||||||
| 9 | crocheted blankets to the OSF Bobbette Steely Hegeler Cancer | ||||||
| 10 | Care Center for patients undergoing chemotherapy; and | ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Gary Resh's selfless, compassionate, generous, | ||||||
| 12 | thoughtful, and genuine nature exemplifies what it means to be | ||||||
| 13 | a First Citizen by choosing to make a positive impact within | ||||||
| 14 | the Danville community; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 15 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 16 | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 17 | we wish to congratulate Gary Resh on receiving the 2024 First | ||||||
| 18 | Citizen Award from The Danville Chapter of AMBUCS; and be it | ||||||
| 19 | further | ||||||
| 20 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 21 | presented to Gary Resh as a symbol of our esteem and respect. | ||||||
