HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Jacob Williams on his 
4recent success at the Grand Lodge National Hoop Shot 
5Championship; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Nine-year-old free throw shooter Jacob Williams 
7began playing basketball at the age of four, following in the 
8footsteps of his brother, father, and grandfather who all 
9played when they were younger; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jacob Williams recently placed third at the Grand 
11Lodge National Hoop Shot Championship; there were a total of 
1212 contestants in his age group of eight-to-nine year olds, 
13and he tied for third place with two other boys, having made 22 
14out of 25 shots; and
 
15    WHEREAS, In the subsequent shoot off, Jacob made five out 
16of five shots, pulling ahead of the other two boys, one from 
17Idaho and one from Maryland, who both made four out of five 
18shots; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Jacob Williams had previously placed first at the 
20Jacksonville Elks Hoop Shot in Jacksonville, Illinois, the 
21Elks District Hoop Shot in Jacksonville, Illinois, the

1Illinois Elks Hoop Shot in Springfield, Illinois, and the Elks 
2Regional Hoop Shoot in Iowa City, Iowa; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Jacob is a student at Winchester Grade School and 
4is the son of Sean and Katie Williams; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
6HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
7we congratulate Jacob Williams for his excellent performance 
8this season and wish him continued success in the future; and 
9be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copies of this resolution be 
11presented to Jacob Williams and his family as a symbol of our 
12esteem and respect.
