HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, CSI Jeremy Hansen and COIII Shelly Hill have been 
3awarded the prestigious Lifesaver Award by the Missouri 
4Department of Corrections for their actions on December 31, 
52023 while employed at the Northeast Correctional Center in 
6Bowling Green, Missouri; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Acting Shift Commander CSI Hansen and COIII Green 
8were on duty when CSI Hansen was notified that a member of the 
9Northeast Correctional Center staff was in the process of 
10taking his own life; and
 
11    WHEREAS, CSI Hansen and COIII Green immediately began 
12attempting to contact the staff member and locate him, but, 
13after failing to make contact with the individual, they 
14enlisted the help of local county and police departments; and
 
15    WHEREAS, The Hannibal Police Department found the 
16individual after being provided with his last known location 
17and a description of his car provided by CSI Hansen and COIII 
18Green; and
 
19    WHEREAS, The individual was quickly moved to the local 
20hospital where life-saving measures were successfully taken; 
21and

1    WHEREAS, The outcome of this event could have been 
2drastically different if it weren't for the quick and 
3unyielding dedication on the parts of CSI Hansen and COIII 
4Green; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
6HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
7we commend CSI Jeremy Hansen and COIII Shelly Green for going 
8above and beyond the call of duty to save a fellow officer in 
9distress, reflecting great merit upon themselves and the 
10entire law enforcement community; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
12presented to CSI Hansen and COIII Green as a symbol of our 
13respect and esteem.
