HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Camp Point Central 
4High School football team, the Panthers, on winning the 2023 
5Illinois High School Association Class 1A State Championship; 
6and
 
7    WHEREAS, The Panthers defeated Lena-Winslow High School 14 
8to 0 on November 24, 2023 at Hancock Stadium on the campus of 
9Illinois State University in Bloomington; and
 
10    WHEREAS, The Panthers and Lena-Winslow High School both 
11compiled undefeated seasons on their path to the championship 
12game; and
 
13    WHEREAS, The Panthers achieved their fifth defensive 
14shutout of the season and dethroned a Lena-Winslow team 
15seeking its fourth straight state title; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Achieving a second place finish in 2018 and 2022, 
17this is the Panthers first state title; therefore, be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
19HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
20we congratulate the Camp Point Central High School football
