HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Mark Thomas on the 
4occasion of his retirement as business manager of Steamfitters 
5Local 439; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Mark Thomas joined Steamfitters Local 439 on July 
78, 1983 and has served his union for 40 years; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Mark Thomas has held the titles of apprentice, 
9journeymen, foreman, general foreman, instructor, executive 
10board member, trustee, training coordinator, business agent, 
11business manager, and financial secretary; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Mark Thomas has been instrumental in keeping 
13Steamfitters Local 439's reputation as a leading force in the 
14piping industry relevant by holding high standards of 
15craftsmanship and character for its members; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Mark Thomas has strengthened the relationships 
17with the metro east communities that Steamfitter's Local 439 
18serves with charitable acts and help when needed; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Mark Thomas is a model of what a union 
20steamfitter should be; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
2HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
3we congratulate Mark Thomas on his retirement as business 
4manager of Steamfitters Local 439, and we wish him the best in 
5all his future endeavors; and be it further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to Mark Thomas as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
