HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the DePaul College Prep 
4boys basketball team, the Rams, on winning the 2022-23 
5Illinois High School Association  Class 2A State Championship; 
6and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The Rams captured their title with a 65 to 41 
8victory over Bloomington Central Catholic on March 11, 2023 at 
9the State Farm Center in Champaign; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, The Rams coasted to an easy victory, earning the 
11championship trophy and ending the season with a 23 and 12 
12final record; and
 
13    WHEREAS, It is the first state championship for the Rams, 
14who finished third in Class 2A in 2022 and 2019 and lost the 
15Class AA title game in 1990 when the school was known as Gordon 
16Tech; and
  
 
  
17    WHEREAS, The Rams are led by Head Coach Tom Kleinschmidt 
18and Assistant Coaches Michael Sneed and Craig Madzinski; they 
19are supported by President Mary A. Dempsey, Principal Megan 
20Stanton-Anderson, and Athletic Director Pat Mahoney; and

1    WHEREAS, The Rams are Cole Jungwirth, Gus Donohue, Rob 
2Walls, Jonas Johnson, Jack Kenessey, Makai Kvamme, Myles 
3Stewart, Henry West, Will O'Shields, PJ Chambers, Payton 
4Kamin, Rashaun Porter, Maurice Thomas, Jack Hoste, Jaylan 
5McElroy, and Dane Barkley; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
7HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
8we congratulate the DePaul College Prep boys basketball team, 
9the Rams, on winning the 2022-23 Illinois High School 
10Association  Class 2A State Championship and wish them many 
11more successful seasons; and be it further
  
 
12    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
13presented to the Rams' players and coaches as a symbol of our 
14respect and esteem.
