HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Leah Hoffman of the 
4Jacksonville High
School dance team, the J'ettes, on being 
5named Miss IDTA 2023; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Miss IDTA is an award given to the top soloist by 
7the Illinois Drill Team Association (IDTA) at the IDTA State 
8Finals, which were held this year from February 10 to February 
911, 2023; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Leah Hoffman's solo routine performance at the 
112023 IDTA State Finals was ranked first out of  36 qualifying 
12candidates in the State, earning her the coveted Miss IDTA 
132023 title; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Leah Hoffman's individual accomplishments include 
15being a four-year member and a two-year co-captain of the 
16Jacksonville J'ettes, a  four-time member of the Central State 
17Eight Athletic Academic All-Conference Honor Roll, and a 
18four-time winner of the IDTA Scholastic Achievement Award; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Leah Hoffman, as a member of the Jacksonville 
20J'ettes, was instrumental in the team being named the 2023 
21Illinois
High School Association (IHSA) Class 1A Competitive

1Dance
Champion, the 2023 IDTA AA Lyrical/Contemporary State 
2Champion, a 2023 Universal Dance Association (UDA) National 
3Semifinalist, and a four-time IHSA Sectional Champion; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, While Leah Hoffman's time on the Jacksonville 
5J'ettes is coming to an end, her  dedication and hard work will 
6leave a lasting impression on Jacksonville High School and her 
7Jacksonville J'ettes teammates  and coaches; therefore, be it
  
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
9HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
10we congratulate Leah Hoffman on being named Miss IDTA 2023 and 
11commend her for her teamwork as a senior performer on the 
12Jacksonville High School dance team, the J'ettes; and be it 
13further
  
 
14    RESOLVED, That we wish Leah Hoffman  success in all of her 
15future endeavors; and be it further
  
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
17presented to Leah Hoffman as a symbol of our esteem and 
18respect.
