HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Delaney 
4"Laney" O'Leary of Grayslake, who passed away on February 27, 
52023; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Delaney O'Leary was born in 2012; she was a 
7student at Meadowview Elementary School; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Delaney O'Leary loved the summer season, 
9especially when she could go swimming, and she always 
10anticipated fireworks around her birthday; she was happiest 
11when playing Roblox with her sister and friends; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Delaney O'Leary fought a courageous, lifelong 
13battle with the  rare disease known as A-T, and she touched many 
14lives during her life; she will be remembered for her loving, 
15spunky spirit; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Delaney O'Leary is survived by her parents, Chris 
17and Sarah; her sister, Mallory; her grandparents, Karen 
18O'Leary and John and Barbara Bettasso; her aunts and uncles, 
19Steve O'Leary, Margaret Christensen, John Bettasso, and Amy 
20Bettasso; and her many cousins; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
2HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
3we mourn the passing of
Delaney "Laney" O'Leary and extend our 
4sincere
condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew 
5and loved
her; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

7presented to the family of Delaney O'Leary as an expression of

8our deepest sympathy.
