HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Laborers' Local 751 on 
4the occasion of its 95th anniversary; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Laborers' Local 751 in Kankakee was chartered by 
6the Hod Carriers, Building and Common Laborers' Union, later 
7known as the Laborers' International Union of North America, 
8on February 6, 1928; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Laborers' Local 751 has worked to promote the 
10establishment of appropriate wages, fringe benefits, hours of 
11employment, and working conditions for all of its members 
12while at the same time promoting, fostering, developing, and 
13advancing the skills, efficiencies, and working knowledge 
14necessary for its members; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Laborers' Local 751 has sought to promote 
16industrial peace and develop a harmonious relationship between 
17the union and its employers and to strive for effective 
18programs that would improve, advance, and increase the 
19opportunities for employment of its members; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Laborers' Local 751 has engaged in legislative 
21and other activities to promote, protect, and advance the

1physical, economic, and social welfare of its members and all 
2people; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
4HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
5we congratulate Laborers' Local 751 on the celebration of its 
695th anniversary, and we wish the union continued success 
7representing working men and women;  and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to Laborers' Local 751 as an expression of our 
10esteem and respect.
