Amends the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act. Provides that a restaurant shall clearly and prominently disclose all fees outside of food costs and taxes that are added to a customer's bill, including administrative fees, at the beginning of the ordering process. Provides that a restaurant that violates the provisions commits an unlawful practice within the meaning of the Act.

| 1 | | AN ACT concerning business.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business |
| 5 | | Practices Act is amended by adding Section 2BBBB as follows: |
| 6 | | (815 ILCS 505/2BBBB new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 2BBBB. Restaurants disclose additional fees. |
| 8 | | (a) As used in this Section, "restaurant" means any |
| 9 | | business that is primarily engaged in the sale of ready-to-eat |
| 10 | | food for immediate consumption. |
| 11 | | (b) A restaurant shall clearly and prominently disclose |
| 12 | | all fees outside of food costs and taxes that are added to a |
| 13 | | customer's bill, including administrative fees, at the |
| 14 | | beginning of the ordering process. A restaurant that violates |
| 15 | | this Section commits an unlawful practice within the meaning |
| 16 | | of this Act.
