AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3508 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3508 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
4    "Section 5. The PFAS Reduction Act is amended  by adding 
5Section 40 as follows:
 
6    (415 ILCS 170/40 new)
7    Sec. 40. PFAS disposal program. The Agency shall establish

8a take-back program for fire departments that use and store 
9firefighting foam
containing PFAS. Fire departments that 
10participated in the most recent survey
described in Section 25 
11shall be eligible to participate in
the program, but 
12participation in the program shall not be
required. The 
13program shall provide funding and resources to
ensure the 
14proper destruction of firefighting foam containing
PFAS. The 
15program shall continue for a period of 5 years or
until the 
16Office of the State Fire Marshal finds that no
firefighting

1foam containing PFAS is reported in the survey
described in

2Section 25. This program is subject to appropriation.
 

3    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
4becoming law.".
