AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2401 

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2401 as follows:
 
3on page 26, line 25, by replacing "require" with "encourage, 
4to the extent possible per available appropriate material and 
5to the extent appropriate, given the purpose and content of 
6the instruction,"; and
 
7on page 27, line 3, by deleting "must"; and
 
8on page 27, line 6, by replacing "Reading" with "Unless the 
9reading material is accompanied by additional resources or 
10developmentally appropriate instruction that addresses the 
11historical and social context of the reading material and 
12negates the perpetuation of any bias, reading"; and
 
13on page 27, by replacing lines 22 and 23 with the following:
