1    AN ACT concerning State government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 
3represented in the General Assembly: 
 
4    Section 5. The Adjutant General, on behalf of the State of 
5Illinois and the Department of Military Affairs, is authorized 
6to convey by Quitclaim Deed all right, title, and interest of 
7the State of Illinois and the Department of Military Affairs 
8in and to the real estate described in Section 10 to the City 
9of West Frankfort, subject to the conditions and restriction 
10described in Section 15.
 
11    Section 10. The Adjutant General is authorized to convey 
12the following described real property: 
 
13    West Frankfort Armory:
 
14    The East 290 feet of a tract of land in the Northeast 
15    quarter of the Southwest quarter of Section 24, Township 7 
16    South, Range 2 East of the Third Principal Meridian, same 
17    being situated in the County of Franklin and State of 
18    Illinois, bounded and described as follows: Beginning at 
19    the Southeast corner of the said Northeast quarter of the 
20    Southwest quarter and running thence North 902 feet, more 
21    or less to the South line of Main Street in the City of

1    West Frankfort, thence West 470.61 feet for a point of 
2    beginning: thence South 450 feet, thence East to the West 
3    line of Taft Street; thence North along the West line of 
4    Taft Street 450 feet to the South line of Main Street; 
5    thence West along the South line of said Main Street to the 
6    point of beginning, excepting the coal, oil, gas and other 
7    minerals underlying the same, in Franklin County, 
8    Illinois.
 
 
9    Section 15. The Adjutant General shall not convey the real 
10property described in Section 10 to the City of West Frankfort 
11until the Adjutant General determines that the property is no 
12longer required for military purposes. Conveyance of the above 
13real property will be in an "as is" condition, and the City of 
14West Frankfort will pay all required costs and expenses for 
15the conveyance, as determined by the Adjutant General. The 
16Quitclaim Deed shall state on its face and be subject to the 
17condition that if the property is no longer used for public 
18purpose, then title shall revert without further action to the 
19State of Illinois.
 
20    Section 20. The Adjutant General shall obtain a certified 
21copy of this Act from the Secretary of State within 60 days 
22after its effective date and, upon the conveyance of the real 
23estate described in Section 10 being made, shall cause the

1certified copy of this Act to be recorded in the office of the 
2Recorder of Franklin County, Illinois.
 
3    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
4becoming law.
