SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Richard Martin; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, Richard Martin began his career with the 
5Murphysboro Fire Department on February 1, 1984; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Richard Martin retired from the Murphysboro Fire 
7Department after 32 years of service on February 6, 2016; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Richard Martin became the legislative 
9representative of the Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois 
10(AFFI) Southern District in 2005, and he served in that 
11position with pride until June 2022; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Richard Martin will be remembered for his 
13lifetime of dedicated service to the citizens of Illinois; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Richard Martin was the proud father of one 
15daughter, Olivia, and  two sons, Eli (Karyn) and Zeke; the 
16proud grandfather of Gunner, Nolan, and Carter; and the 
17longtime partner of Darcy; therefore, be it
  
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
19ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

1Richard Martin and extend our sincere condolences to his 
2family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
3further
  
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
5presented to the family of Richard Martin as an expression of 
6our deepest sympathy.
