SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Roger L. Greene of Hampton, who passed away on June 10, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Roger Greene was born to Richard L. and Marjorie (Dodge) Greene in Chicago on February 10, 1962; he served in the U.S. Army in Germany; he married Susanne Ann Vosen in Kaiserslautern, Germany on March 18, 1988; and

WHEREAS, Roger Greene's career in purchasing led him to live in several states throughout the United States; he returned to the Quad Cities in 2004 and worked for Kone until his departure from the company in 2012; and

WHEREAS, Roger Greene was a proud Eagle Scout; he enjoyed volunteering for various sports activities and Junior Achievement; and

WHEREAS, Roger Greene enjoyed fishing, hiking, golfing, playing video games, and spending time with his family; he was also an avid Bears, Cardinals, and Hawkeyes fan; he dabbled in poetry and crafted song ideas; he was deeply interested in theology and spirituality, and he explored different aspect of many religions; he was also very interested in ancient history and was fascinated by the stories surrounding ancient civilizations; and

WHEREAS, Roger Greene was a devoted son, husband, and father; he will be remembered for his kindness and his beautiful, creative mind; and

WHEREAS, Roger Greene was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents, Leigh and Madeline Greene and Philip and Frankie Dodge; his two aunts; his two uncles; and his three cousins; and

WHEREAS, Roger Greene is survived by his wife; his mother; his son, Ryan Greene; his brother-in-law, Thomas Vosen; his aunt, Margaret Greene; and his cousins, Cris Ehrhardt, John (Kim) Dodge, Matthew (Carla) Dodge, Amy (Bill Stronks) Wilson-Stronks, Renee (John) Barner, Beth Ehrhardt, Mike (Abigail) Dodge, Steve (Rose) Dodge, Philip (Kat Easterling) Dodge, and Heather Dodge; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Roger L. Greene and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Roger Greene as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
