SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Dan Thomas Higdon of Metamora, 
4formerly of Peoria Heights, who passed away on June 23, 2022; 
5and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Dan Higdon was born to Willa and Ella (Cross) 
7Higdon in Franklin, Tennessee on June 22, 1934; he served in 
8the U.S. Army; he married Shirley Webb in Peoria on August 21, 
91955; he later married Mary Ann Hotvedt in Manito on October 7, 
101984; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Dan Higdon worked as a union painter for 11 
12years; he started Mid Illinois Companies in 1970 and retired 
13in 1996; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Dan Higdon was the proud father of three Eagle 
15Scouts and was Cubmaster and Scoutmaster for 13 years in 
16Peoria Heights; he was a member of the G.P.C.S.A., the 
17P.D.C.A., and the American Legion; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Dan Higdon was preceded in death by two brothers 
19and two sisters; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Dan Higdon is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; his

1children, Dennis (Dori) Higdon, Dale (Irlene) Higdon, Dave 
2(Deb) Higdon,  and Debra (Kim) Young; his stepson, Harlan L. 
3Hotvedt III; his brother, Ronnie (Kathy) Higdon; his 12 
4grandchildren; his 14 great-grandchildren; and his one 
5great-great-grandchild; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

8Dan Thomas Higdon and extend our sincere
condolences to his 
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it 
10further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

12presented to the family of Dan Higdon as an expression of
our 
13deepest sympathy.
