| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Marvin L. Rursch of Edgington, who |
| 4 | | passed away on April 7, 2022; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Rursch was born in Rock Island County to |
| 6 | | Addison and Edith Johnston Rursch on September 3, 1935; he |
| 7 | | graduated from Reynolds High School in 1953 and honorably |
| 8 | | served in the U.S. Army; he married Denise Stone in Edgington |
| 9 | | on June 7, 1964; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Rursch joined the Country Companies |
| 11 | | family, later known as Country Financial, in 1961; he earned |
| 12 | | his CFP designation and focused on investment and retirement |
| 13 | | planning and mentoring others during his 47 years; he was |
| 14 | | passionate about protecting families and their livelihoods, |
| 15 | | and he always put his customers first in prioritizing their |
| 16 | | insurance needs; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Rursch took great pride in raising |
| 18 | | Simmental Cattle; he enjoyed building quality pedigrees and |
| 19 | | exhibiting these cattle around the country with his children; |
| 20 | | and |
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Rursch was a lifelong member of Edgington |

| 1 | | Evangelical Presbyterian Church, where he had served on many |
| 2 | | committees; his faith and his family were central to his life; |
| 3 | | he enjoyed following Rockridge sports and was an avid fan of |
| 4 | | the Chicago Cubs and the Illini; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Rursch was preceded in death by his |
| 6 | | parents; his siblings, Duane Rursch, Lois Rursch Anderson, |
| 7 | | Orville Rursch, Clair Rursch, Donald Rursch, and John Robert |
| 8 | | "J.R." Rursch; and his niece, Lara Grossman; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Rursch is survived by his wife of 57 |
| 10 | | years, Denise; his son, Marty Rursch; his daughter and |
| 11 | | son-in-law, Michele and Eric Weinert; his step-grandchildren, |
| 12 | | Cole (Sarah Hunter) Weinert, Lane (Hadley) Weinert, Sawyer |
| 13 | | Weinert, and Kamden Weinert; and numerous nieces and nephews |
| 14 | | and their families; therefore, be it

| 15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL |
| 16 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 17 | | Marvin L. Rursch and extend our sincere condolences to his |
| 18 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
| 19 | | further
|
| 20 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 21 | | presented to the family of Marvin Rursch as an expression of |
| 22 | | our deepest sympathy.
