| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Isaac "Ike" Rangel of Moline, who |
| 4 | | passed away on January 30, 2020; and

| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ike Rangel was born in Moline to Isaac Sr. and |
| 6 | | Frances (Olvera) Rangel on July 17, 1937; he served in the U.S. |
| 7 | | Army; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Ike Rangel worked for the former Rock Island |
| 9 | | Lines and retired from John Deere Harvester in East Moline; |
| 10 | | and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Ike Rangel was a Iowa Hawkeye fan; in his younger |
| 12 | | days, he played baseball and helped coach in the Mexican |
| 13 | | League; he enjoyed playing pool and piks; he was generous to a |
| 14 | | fault and loved doting over his granddaughter, Giana; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Ike Rangel was preceded in death by his parents; |
| 16 | | his longtime companion, Patricia Ann "Patty" Cervantes; and |
| 17 | | his siblings, Elvira "Lil" Nache, and David and Joseph "Boss" |
| 18 | | Rangel; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Ike Rangel is survived by his sons, Chris Rangel, |
| 20 | | Bo Rangel, Daniel Rangel, and Patrick Cervantes; his |
