| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Joseph "Joe" Kline of rural Cordova, |
| 4 | | who passed away on February 2, 2022; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Joe Kline was born to Ferdinand and Harriet |
| 6 | | (Druehl) Kline in Moline on August 12, 1932; he graduated from |
| 7 | | Cordova High School in 1950 and attended Northern State |
| 8 | | Teachers College for one year; he married Joyce Forsythe at |
| 9 | | her home in rural Cordova on June 14, 1952; he was drafted into |
| 10 | | the United States Army in 1953 and served in Korea until being |
| 11 | | honorably discharged in 1954 with the rank of Staff Sergeant; |
| 12 | | and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Joe Kline was a lifelong farmer in Coe Township; |
| 14 | | and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Joe Kline and his wife volunteered with Pathway |
| 16 | | Hospice for over 10 years; he was a former Boy Scout Master, |
| 17 | | coached Little League Baseball, and served as a volunteer |
| 18 | | fireman with the Cordova Fire Department; and |
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Joe Kline was a member of Bethel Baptist Church |
| 20 | | in rural Port Byron, American Legion Post #1033, and the |
| 21 | | Illinois Farm Bureau and was a former member of the Cordova |
