| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Robert E. Tanghe of East Moline, who |
| 4 | | passed away on November 19, 2021; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Robert Tanghe was born to Peter and Germaine |
| 6 | | (VanHecke) Tanghe in Moline on December 8, 1931; he received |
| 7 | | his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the |
| 8 | | former Iowa State College; he served in the U.S. Army during |
| 9 | | the Korean War; he married JoAnn Redecker at St. Mary's Church |
| 10 | | in Rock Island on October 31, 1959; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Robert Tanghe worked at Eagle Signal for over 30 |
| 12 | | years; he later retired from the Rock Island Arsenal in 1997; |
| 13 | | and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Robert Tanghe was a member of St. Mary's Church |
| 15 | | in Rock Island; he enjoyed gardening, home improvement |
| 16 | | projects, and model airplanes; alongside his wife, he enjoyed |
| 17 | | traveling during retirement, including taking cruises to many |
| 18 | | different destinations; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Robert Tanghe was preceded in death by his |
| 20 | | parents; his sister and his brother-in-law, Marie and Don |
| 21 | | Lannoo; his granddaughter, Kayla DiIulio; and his |
