SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Roy E. Mowery of Rock Island, who 
4passed away on September 6, 2021; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Roy Mowery was born to Averel and Ruth Linder 
6Mowery in Richland, Iowa on August 24, 1933; he married Betty 
7Chezum at the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield, Iowa 
8on July 3, 1955; he served in the  U.S. Army; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Roy Mowery worked as a fork lift driver for John 
10Deere Plow and Planter, Moline; he  retired in 1993; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Roy Mowery really enjoyed working on cars, 
12drinking Mountain Dew, and spending time with his friends at 
13the Rock Island Boat Club; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Roy Mowery was preceded in death by his parents; 
15his brothers, Earl, Robert, and Charles Mowery; and his 
16sister, Donna Mae Danay; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Roy Mowery is survived by his wife, Betty; his 
18children, Jeff (Tammy) Mowery, Christine White, and Todd 
19Mowery; his five grandchildren; his twelve 
20great-grandchildren; his five great-great-grandchildren; his

1brother, Richard Mowery; and his many special friends at the 
2Rock Island Boat Club; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5Roy E. Mowery and extend our sincere condolences to his 
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
7further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the family of Roy Mowery as an expression of our 
10deepest sympathy.
