| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Orlando A. Krueger of Springfield, who | ||||||
| 4 | passed away on August 11, 2021; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Orlando Krueger was born in Springfield to Otto | ||||||
| 6 | W. and Edna M (Niewedde) Krueger on October 4, 1926; he served | ||||||
| 7 | in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1949; he received his | ||||||
| 8 | undergraduate degree from Ripon College; he earned his | ||||||
| 9 | master's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of | ||||||
| 10 | Illinois in Champaign-Urbana; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Orlando Krueger held numerous positions as a | ||||||
| 12 | civil engineer in roadway and dam construction industries; he | ||||||
| 13 | most recently served as vice president of S.J. Groves & Sons | ||||||
| 14 | Contractors, an international highway and tunneling company, | ||||||
| 15 | until his retirement; he was most proud of several of his | ||||||
| 16 | engineering projects, namely Garrison Dam in North Dakota and | ||||||
| 17 | the rehabilitation of the Eden's Expressway in Chicago; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Orlando Krueger was a founding member of Our | ||||||
| 19 | Savior's Lutheran Church, where he served on various boards | ||||||
| 20 | and committees and sang in the choir; he was instrumental in | ||||||
| 21 | the development of Camp Cilca; he also served on the founding | ||||||
| 22 | board of Concordia Village; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Orlando Krueger was deeply proud of his family; | ||||||
| 2 | he enjoyed international travel and was a big supporter of the | ||||||
| 3 | many sports and activities of the Lutheran High School | ||||||
| 4 | Crusaders; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Orlando Krueger was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 6 | wife, Marjorie Paulen; his second wife, Jane Krusa; his | ||||||
| 7 | sisters, Arlene Krueger and Claretta Scott; and his brothers, | ||||||
| 8 | Loren Krueger, Bernard Krueger, and Wilbur Krueger; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Orlando Krueger is survived by his sons, Clifford | ||||||
| 10 | "Cliff" (Lisa J.) Krueger and Curtis "Curt" (Lisa A.) Krueger; | ||||||
| 11 | his four grandchildren; his four step-grandchildren; his | ||||||
| 12 | several great-grandchildren; his brothers, Rev. Delmar (Doris) | ||||||
| 13 | Krueger and Herbert (Virginia) Krueger; and his numerous | ||||||
| 14 | nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 15 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
| 16 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 17 | Orlando A. Krueger and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
| 18 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
| 19 | further
| ||||||
| 20 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 21 | presented to the family of Orlando Krueger as an expression of | ||||||
