| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Bruce H. Pieper of Rock Island, who |
| 4 | | passed away on August 8, 2021; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bruce Pieper was born to Arthur and Gladys |
| 6 | | (Davis) Pieper in Waterloo, Iowa on July 10, 1929; he married |
| 7 | | Norma Smith in Rock Island on October 6, 1945; he served in the |
| 8 | | U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Bruce Pieper retired from International Harvester |
| 10 | | in East Moline, where he was a material handling engineer; he |
| 11 | | was an executive on loan from International Harvester to |
| 12 | | United Way of the QC for many years; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Bruce Pieper was a member of 15th Avenue |
| 14 | | Christian Church, Rock Island and a former member of Memorial |
| 15 | | Christian Church; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Bruce Pieper enjoyed fishing, hunting, and |
| 17 | | spending time with his family; he and his wife enjoyed |
| 18 | | performing and volunteering with the Quad City Music Guild |
| 19 | | theater in Moline, where he performed in 18 leading roles; he |
| 20 | | was also a performer at Play Crafters, Circa 21, and many other |
| 21 | | venues around the Quad Cities; and
