| 2 | | WHEREAS, Global JXDM (Global Justice Extensible Markup |
| 3 | | Language) is an XML standard designed specifically for |
| 4 | | criminal justice information exchanges, providing law |
| 5 | | enforcement, public safety agencies, prosecutors, public |
| 6 | | defenders, and the judicial branch with a tool to effectively |
| 7 | | share data; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, The adoption of this standard in all future |
| 9 | | data-related decisions will increase the ability to conduct |
| 10 | | research, to make data-driven policy decisions, and to share |
| 11 | | data with appropriate access control safeguards in place; in |
| 12 | | addition, cost savings will result from the elimination of |
| 13 | | redundant data processes necessitated by the inability of |
| 14 | | databases to effectively transfer data; therefore, be it
|
| 15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL |
| 16 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that all Illinois agencies |
| 17 | | that create, store, or transfer law enforcement or criminal |
| 18 | | justice data are urged to consider the Global Justice |
| 19 | | Extensible Markup Language or Global JXDM in making changes to |
| 20 | | their data systems; and be it further

| 21 | | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution are |
| 22 | | delivered to all Illinois state agencies.
