HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to recognize the Springfield High School 
4show choir, IN Session, on the occasion of its achievements 
5during the past season; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The IN Session is an energetic show choir 
7comprised of 26 devoted singers/dancers; the choir is backed 
8by the Springfield High School show choir band, Executive

9Sound, and eight hardworking crew members; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, IN Session is an extracurricular activity, with 
11members meeting two nights a week for two hours; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, IN Session has received numerous awards during

13its competition season; the choir was third runner-up in Prep 
14Division at the Mt. Zion Midwest Show Choir Invitational; it 
15was named grand champion in 3A and first runner-up overall at 
16the

Keokuk Power City Classic Invitational in Iowa

 as well as 
17winning Best Female Soloist in a Show; the choir won
first 
18runner-up in the 4A Division

at the Central Lee Central 
19Connections Invitational in Iowa; it was proclaimed grand 
20champion at the Chatham-Glenwood The Event Invitational  along 
21with winning Best Vocal Sound, Best    Choreography, and Best 
22Combo in the Group Division; the choir was declared   grand

1champion in the Class A Division at the Herscher Swing & Sing 
2Invitational; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, This year,  IN Session will have competed locally 
4at Mt. Zion and Chatham and out-of-state at Keokuk and Central 
5Lee, both in Iowa, before concluding its 2022 season at the 
6Herscher Swing & Sing competition; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, IN Session is under the direction of and 
8choreographed by Steven L. Robinson; therefore, be it
  
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
10HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
11we recognize the Springfield High School show choir, IN 
12Session, for its achievements during the past season and wish 
13its members continued success; and be it further
  
 
14    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
15presented to all members of IN Session and Director Steven L. 
16Robinson as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
