HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Ronald 
4"Ron" Rivers, who passed away on December 15, 2021; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Ron Rivers was born on June 2, 1948; he graduated 
6from Hirsch High School in Chicago; he served in the U.S. Army 
7for three years before being honorably discharged; he later 
8studied Social Service and Communications at Kennedy King 
9Community College; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Ron Rivers built a beautiful life with his best 
11friend and wife of over 30 years, Regina; together, they built 
12their home in Maywood and had six children and many 
13grandchildren; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Ron Rivers had a 32-year career with Trans World, 
15American, and Continental Airlines, working in catering and 
16customer service; he retired in 1999 to focus on his 
17grandchildren and to serve the community of Maywood; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Ron Rivers served as a trustee for the Village of 
19Maywood; he was an active member of  the Maywood United Party 
20and of the Proviso Township Democratic Organization; and

1    WHEREAS, Ron Rivers was a trusted friend and public 
2servant, shining light on all he encountered; he will be 
3remembered as a treasure who was loved beyond words and will be 
4missed beyond measure; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
6HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
7we mourn the passing of Ronald "Ron" Rivers and extend our 
8sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew 
9and loved him; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of Ron Rivers as an expression of our 
12deepest sympathy.
