| 5 | | Illinois State Council and on becoming the first Black |

| 7 | | WHEREAS, As president of the SEIU Illinois State Council, |
| 8 | | Greg Kelley will represent 150,000 workers in health care, |
| 9 | | property services, and public sectors across three local |
| 10 | | unions, the majority of whom are frontline, essential workers; |
| 11 | | and

| 12 | | WHEREAS, Greg Kelley's ascension comes at an important |
| 13 | | moment for labor advocacy in Illinois, as workers across the |
| 14 | | State win higher wages, better conditions, and stronger |
| 15 | | protections; and

| 16 | | WHEREAS, Greg Kelley is the current president of SEIU |
| 17 | | Healthcare Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, and Kansas, which |
| 18 | | represents 90,000 healthcare, child care, nursing home and |
| 19 | | home healthcare workers across four states; his 20-plus years |
| 20 | | in the labor movement began when he was a rank-and-file SEIU |
