| 2 | | WHEREAS, On December 10, 2021, severe storms and tornadoes |
| 3 | | ripped through the Southern and Midwestern United States, |
| 4 | | damaging homes and businesses in Edwardsville; six employees |
| 5 | | tragically lost their lives, and one employee sustained |
| 6 | | serious injuries at the Edwardsville Amazon warehouse; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Severe weather and tornado warnings were issued, |
| 8 | | giving notice to residents to take cover and seek shelter; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, The victims of this natural disaster deserve to |
| 10 | | be recognized; they are Deandre S. Morrow, 28, of St. Louis, |
| 11 | | Kevin D. Dickey, 62, of Carlyle, Clayton Lynn Cope, 29, of |
| 12 | | Alton, Etheria S. Hebb, 34, of St. Louis, Larry E. Virden, 46, |
| 13 | | of Collinsville, and Austin J. McEwen, 26, of Edwardsville; |
| 14 | | and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Craig Yost, 39, deserves support during his |
| 16 | | recovery from injuries sustained while trapped due to storm |
| 17 | | damage at the Amazon warehouse; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, The health and safety of workers must be a |
| 19 | | priority for all employers, especially as severe weather |
| 20 | | events increase; therefore, be it
