| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Franco |
| 4 | | Cesar Patino of Naperville, who passed away on November 5, |
| 5 | | 2021; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Franco Patino was born in Melrose Park on |
| 7 | | February 25, 2000; he graduated from Neuqua Valley High School |
| 8 | | in 2018; during high school, he was a Physical Education |
| 9 | | leader and was involved with the football, wrestling, and |
| 10 | | rugby teams for four years; he was part the 2015 |
| 11 | | freshmen/sophomore and the 2017 junior varsity state |
| 12 | | championship rugby team; he was also a part of the WM |
| 13 | | International Engineering/Bike Boosters at the Darien Center |
| 14 | | in Darien and continued to be involved with them after high |
| 15 | | school; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Franco Patino was a senior at the University of |
| 17 | | Dayton in Ohio where he was pursuing his passion as a |
| 18 | | Mechanical Engineering Technology major with a minor in Human |
| 19 | | Movement Biomechanics; he was the treasurer of Alpha Psi |
| 20 | | Lambda, a co-educational Latino interest fraternity, and was |
| 21 | | active in the Greek and MEC communities on campus; he was the |
| 22 | | president of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, |
| 23 | | active in the ETHOS program, a campus program where |
|

| 1 | | engineering students provide humanitarian-focused services and |
| 2 | | conduct research projects internationally, and currently |
| 3 | | working for AtriCure Inc. in the Research and Development |
| 4 | | Department of an engineering Co-Op program in Mason, Ohio; he |
| 5 | | was the first person at the University of Dayton in Ohio to |
| 6 | | organize rugby games with universities nearby and organized a |
| 7 | | team of his own in Dayton; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Franco Patino was loyal, loving, selfless, |
| 9 | | protective, funny, and caring; even though he was a |
| 10 | | hardworking individual, he would always try to make time for |
| 11 | | his family and friends; he had a passion for helping others and |
| 12 | | lived life to the fullest; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Franco Patino is survived by his parents, Julio |
| 14 | | C. and Teresita Patino, and his brothers, Cesar and Julio Jr. |
| 15 | | Patino; therefore, be it
|
| 16 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 17 | | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 18 | | we mourn the passing of
Franco Cesar Patino and extend our |
| 19 | | sincere
condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew |
