| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Jelani |
| 4 | | Day of Bloomington; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jelani Day was originally from Danville; he was |
| 6 | | the son of Carmen Bolden-Day and the second youngest of five |
| 7 | | siblings, which included two brothers and two sisters; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Jelani Day was a track and field athlete at |
| 9 | | Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University in Huntsville, |
| 10 | | Alabama from 2014 to 2015; he graduated at the top of his class |
| 11 | | with a bachelor's degree in speech pathology in 2018; he was a |
| 12 | | member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Jelani Day started his first semester of graduate |
| 14 | | school in the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department |
| 15 | | at Illinois State University in Normal in 2018; he was |
| 16 | | pursuing his master's degree in speech pathology; therefore, |
| 17 | | be it

| 18 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 19 | | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 20 | | we mourn the passing of Jelani Day and extend our sincere |
| 21 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved |
