HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, AMBUCS is a national nonprofit charitable 
3organization with a diverse membership comprised of local 
4civic clubs located throughout the United States, where 
5members are dedicated to inspiring mobility and independence 
6for people with disabilities; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, AMBUCS has 14 chapters located in the State of 
8Illinois and devoted to the mission of National AMBUCS, which 
9are the Cornbelt Bloomington AMBUCS, the Champaign-Urbana 
10AMBUCS, the Danville AMBUCS, the Decatur-Lincolnland AMBUCS, 
11the Jacksonville AMBUCS, the Pekin AMBUCS, the Rock River 
12AMBUCS, the Springfield AMBUCS, the Sullivan AMBUCS, the Windy 
13City AMBUCS, the I-80 Ottawa AMBUCS, the Greater Champaign 
14County AMBUCS, the Grundy Area AMBUCS, and the South Eastern 
15AMBUCS; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, AMBUCS has 501 members in the State of Illinois 
17and 254 members in Springfield; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, AMBUCS chapters and members throughout the State 
19of Illinois annually contribute thousands of hours of 
20community service and hundreds of thousands of dollars of 
21monetary gifts toward providing Amtrykes to disabled children, 
22endowing scholarships for therapy students, building ramps for

1disabled persons, and numerous other deserving local and 
2national projects; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
4HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
5we declare the month of April 2021 as AMBUCS Appreciation 
6Month in the State of Illinois; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That we recognize the accomplishments, unequaled 
8charitable giving, and selfless contributions of AMBUCS 
9chapters and members throughout the State.
