HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Jefferson Park 
4Neighborhood Association on the occasion of its 20th 
5anniversary; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The Jefferson Park Neighborhood Association was 
7organized by several members of the Jefferson Park Chamber of 
8Commerce and local residents to provide a shared vision of the 
9neighborhood and move it into the 21st century; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, The Jefferson Park Neighborhood Association has 
11served an important civic role, keeping residents informed 
12about local issues, supporting local businesses, and driving 
13conversation about the community; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Efforts from the Jefferson Park Neighborhood 
15Association to preserve local history proved so successful 
16that the initiative was expanded to other area neighborhoods 
17and helped lead to the creation of the Northwest Chicago 
18Historical Society; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Since 2011, the Jefferson Park Neighborhood 
20Association has helped organize a popular community farmers 
21market that brings neighbors and local businesses together;

2    WHEREAS, The Jefferson Park Neighborhood Association is 
3positioned to continue its integral community role in ensuring 
4Jefferson Park is a thriving community that residents love to 
5call home; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
7HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
8we congratulate the Jefferson Park Neighborhood Association on 
9its 20th anniversary and wish it many more successful years; 
10and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That we thank the dedicated members of the 
12Jefferson Park Neighborhood Association for their tireless 
13efforts in making their community a better place to live; and 
14be it further
  
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
16presented to the Jefferson Park Neighborhood Association.
