HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Mayor Michael Collins on decades of hard work on behalf of the Village of Plainfield; and

WHEREAS, Mayor Collins has dedicated his career to serving his community, expressed through years of hard work to improve his home of Plainfield; and

WHEREAS, Mayor Collins was born in Joliet but has called Plainfield home his entire life; he attended Plainfield High School and Joliet Junior College; and

WHEREAS, Mayor Collins has worked in numerous part-time positions and also with the Will County Sheriff's Office and as a volunteer firefighter in Plainfield; and

WHEREAS, Mayor Collins' elected offices include serving as a Plainfield Fire District Trustee and as a Plainfield Village Board Trustee; he became the Mayor of Plainfield in 2009 and has held that position since then; and

WHEREAS, In addition to his work in public service, Mayor Collins also dedicates his time to various organizations; he is a charter member of the Moose and belongs to the Lions Club and Civic Club in Joliet as well; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his involvement in his community, Mayor Collins has had the support of his family; he is the oldest of nine children and has the gift of three children, 12 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren; he has been married to his wife, Jo Ann, for 24 years; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Mayor Michael Collins on his decades of hard work on behalf of the Village of Plainfield and wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mayor Collins and his family to thank him for his service to Plainfield, his home.
