<synopsistitle></synopsistitle>
<reference>105 ILCS 5/10-22.6</reference><aliasreference>from Ch. 122, par. 10-22.6</aliasreference><reference>105 ILCS 5/13A-1</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>Amends the School Code. Provides that school officials shall limit the number and duration of transfers to alternative schools in place of discipline. Requires a school district to create an Alternative School Bill of Rights by which a pupil who is offered a transfer to an alternative school in place of disciplinary action shall be provided with certain information by the appropriate administrator. Provides that the Alternative School Bill of Rights shall constitute a contract between the school board and the educational rights holder by requiring a signature from either a representative, assignee, or other designated member of the school board and the educational rights holder. Provides that in no event may a school board extend the duration of a pupil's transfer to an alternative school in place of discipline without written notice to the educational rights holder and an opportunity to be meaningfully heard before the school board. Makes related changes. Effective immediately.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
