<synopsistitle></synopsistitle>
<reference>105 ILCS 5/9-11.3 new</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Amends the School Code. Provides that, notwithstanding any other provision of law, the school board of North Chicago School District 187 shall, by lot, pick 3 members whose terms shall end once their successors are elected and qualified at the 2023 consolidated election and 4 members whose terms shall end once their successors are elected and qualified at the 2025 consolidated election. Provides that, if there are any vacancies on the board at the time the lot is drawn, the vacant position shall be included in the lot, and the term of any person subsequently appointed to that vacant position shall be the term as determined by the lot. Provides that, if an appointed member refuses to relinquish his or her position after his or her successor is elected and qualified in the 2023 or 2025 consolidated elections, then the State Board of Education may take any action needed to remove the appointed member. <SynopsisText>Removes provisions relating to the school board determining terms by lot. Instead provides for that determination to be made by the chairperson of the Independent Authority for the school district. Makes a technical correction.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
